I specifically bought Medela Single Deluxe Breast Pump for occasional use since I don’t work and I knew I’d be around for my baby girl’s nursing time. I also wanted to have backup milk supply for ‘just in-case’ and I’m glad I bought this one. I have no complaints especially since this pump helped me to relieve a chronic case of engorgement I suffered one week after I got home from the hospital. Pumping each breast does not take more than 10 minutes for me with this pump. It’s great for maintaining my milk supply. You can use it with electricity or even with batteries if you are out of the house. Medela Single Deluxe Breast Pump is exceptionally easy to use, the instruction booklet guides you through all the steps of breast pumping and cleaning the pump is also not that difficult. After detaching the parts you can dish wash them, sterilize in boiling water or hand wash in soapy water. All the parts take little time and effort to assemble and the entire breast pumping session takes about 15 to 20 minutes max. The breast pump has a small dial that allows you to control the suction to your comfort level and a container stand that prevents the breast pump from tipping over and falling. I use this pump occasionally to relieve engorgement or to have a little back-up milk. It is lightweight, compact and portable and should definitely be considered for occasional use.

I would definitely recommend this breast pump for mothers who need to express milk only occasionally. After using a couple of manual breast pumps, I finally bought an electric one. It is lightweight and compact so very easily handled. Also it is portable so all I do is stuff it in my purse or travelling bag and I can express milk out of the house as well. The breast pump use is made more comfortable because of the adjustable suction control, I can feel more relaxed and this helps to create a smooth flow of milk. It is super easy to clean, you can dish-wash it, hand-wash it or sterilize it with boiling water. Plus all the parts are very easy to handle, assemble and de-assemble. I think that’s one good feature of all Medela pumps that they are user-friendly. I use this pump about 4 to 5 times every week to make a little extra milk and I nurse my child at other times. It is still good to have a breast pump that you can use occasionally and that you can trust will produce more milk for your baby when you need it and provide maximum comfort and efficiency at the same time!
