Avent Isis is a manual breast pump by the Phillips and probably the best manual breast pump that I have used since I started breastfeeding. I did not even need to consider any electric breast pump because I got what I needed with this manual one. The best advantage for me was the fact that it helped to relieve nipple pain; my baby boy had a strong suck which usually lead to sore nipples. But when I started using Avent Isis Manual, all my problems were gone after only a couple of uses. This pump is so convenient and easy to use; everybody can understand to use it in only a minute. The simplicity is remarkable, there’s no worry about tubing, extra equipment etc. all which has to be dragged with you on your vacations and travels with electric breast pumps. This really small and compact pump has to be attached to a bottle and you can start pumping right away. It takes about 20 minutes to express 8 to 9 ounces of milk with this pump and I usually don’t need more than that either since I’m almost always around to nurse. Surprisingly my hands didn’t get tired too but the milk flow was fast and expressing did not take a long time. So all in all, it’s a great manual pump for mothers who need to pump relatively small amounts of milk but still require efficiency and comfort while doing it.

The thing I love the best about this manual pump by Avent is its compactness, it is a really small pump that fits in my palm that I can carry anywhere I want in my purse! The portability makes it desirable for stay at home mothers as well as working mothers. It’s also really very simply to use, another reason why it is so desirable; the equipment is small and easy to setup. The Avent bottles that I use and the pump takes only about 5 minutes to clean thoroughly. The milk expression takes about 10 to 15 minutes max, in which I can pump around 5 to 6 ounces. Using this pump is very comfortable and not at all rigid as I had supposed it to be. The rhythm, suction control etc. is all completely under your control so your expressing speed basically depends on your own preferences. The brand is also a reliable one so I had no doubts about the quality of the product before I bought it. I am getting this same pump for my sister’s baby shower and I’d suggest everyone else to buy one for themselves as well!
