Lansinoh Breast Pumps
Since I had used Lansinoh accessories like the nipple cream in the past to ease the pain of sore nipples, when it came time to choose a breastpump, I went with the Lansinoh Breast Pump – in particular, the Lansinoh Double Electric breast pump model.
Well, good news in that I have been pumping for about 3 months now, and I’m satisfied and happy with what I bought. Typically, I’ll pump daily (and boy do I have a huge store of breastmilk in the freezer, just in case), and it takes no more than about 10 minutes with each breast to get the 5-6 ounces I need.
Another cool thing is that the Lansinoh pump is small and easily portable, so carrying it around isn’t a big deal. Though it doesn’t come with a case or breast pump backpack like some of the others, it’s not too big of a deal because it fits in my shoulder bag, no problem. Even though I’m not pumping at work, when I go to the mall or over a friend’s house, its easy to run around with.
At first when I bought it, I dreaded the thought of cleaning it because there seemed to be many small parts, but it wasn’t too bad at all – I can take the breast pump apart in about a minute or less, and I throw all the parts in a sterilizer so they are cleaned often. The good thing is that because it doesn’t allow any milk to back up, it’s a big time-saver because I only have to sterilize it every other day instead of after each use. Another thing I’ve noticed is that both sides pump equally strong, no matter what the setting is, so I don’t have to fiddle with it much to make it work how I want. I’ve read that some people experience differences in suction depending on which side of the pump they’re using, but not my Lansinoh breast pump.
There are a couple of things I would improve if you ask me – the suction strength should be higher, because sometimes I get a bit frustrated that it’s not pulling strongly enough, but it definitely gets the job done. Also, the small parts may be a difficult for those impatient moms when they need to assemble and disassembe in a hurry.
All in all, I’m happy that the Lanisnoh company makes good products like this one (the Lansinoh Electric Breast Pump) and good accessories. Good luck with your pumping, moms out there!
